FOREWORD FROM THE CHAIRMAN 2019
Dear Friends, Colleagues and Supporters,
We are delighted to be celebrating the 54th Annual Maidenhead Festival of Music
And Dance and look forward to seeing you at our event once again.
Last year’s festival was again a successful event, with some excellent entries across all
sections. The Dance section continues to entertain in style at the Desborough Suite, and we
were pleased to welcome members of the public to view some outstanding and varied
performances.
If you are not entering as a performer, you are always warmly invited to attend any of the
festival sessions as an audience member. All performers love an audience and you will enjoy
high quality performance at extremely reasonable rates at both the Desborough Suite for
dance and at Norden Farm for the music section.
If you have any queries regarding the classes, or you are not sure which class is most
suitable for you or your pupils, please contact the section co-ordinators, who will be happy to
give guidance. If you need more application forms, these can be downloaded directly from
our website.
The festival is a registered charity run entirely for the benefit of participants. We are
delighted to be able to use the excellent facilities at Norden Farm and the Desborough Suite.
The classes represent excellent value for money in comparison with the full costs of music
and dance exams. Our adjudicators are experienced examiners in their chosen fields, and their
comments are ideal preparation for the exams for which many of our competitors are
preparing.
We are keen to encourage volunteers to help with box office and front of house during
the festival itself, and if you would like to get involved in this way, I would be thrilled to hear
from you. Please contact me at enquiries@maidenheadfestival.co.uk or on 07736 250597.
The committee and I send our best wishes to everyone participating in the 2019 Festival
and we look forward to seeing you all in October and November. Please check our website
for latest news of this year’s events.
